Web Writer
While I may never write a novel, I am sufficiently skilled as a writer to compose and edit prose for the web.
For Microsoft’s www.asp.net web site I was responsible for all announcements published on the home page. Generally this meant that I wrote the announcement. When copy was supplied, I was typically empowered to edit the supplied copy or rewrite it, whichever I felt would result in a better announcement.
When a new web page was required, I was responsible for researching, structuring, writing, and illustrating the page. I wrote pages to describe ASP.NET, to describe ASP.NET AJAX, to present support options, and more.
On a weekly basis the web site would publish new videos, new tutorials, new downloads, new podcasts, and other new items for developers. For each new item I was responsible for writing the descriptions and preparing the screenshots.
On occasions it was necesary to publish information which needed to be carefully composed. In these instances I was nearly always the author, even if the information was presented as though written by Microsoft. Quite simply I became trusted to say the right thing, in the right way.
When I joined the administration team for Microsoft’s www.silverlight.net web site, I again became responsible for writing all new pages, announcements, and descriptions.
